BCERL Tour with High School Students

Date: 10/25/2017

On October 25, 2017, Dr. Memari, director of PHRC, had a fantastic visit with some State College Area High School students in Chris Warren's Building Construction Technology class to show them the Building Components & Envelopes Research Laboratory (BCERL) in Engineering Unit A. Their tour included the various facilities in the lab: dynamic racking, light shear wall loading, strong reaction frame, wind load testing, uniform load testing, air and moisture infiltration testing, windborne debris impact, thermal performance testing, beam and beam column testing, and nondestructive testing. The high school students were able to ask questions and see the real world testing facilities of building construction components and envelopes at Penn State.

Check out photos from the tour here. Learn more about our lab facilities here.
