Conference session

Wednesday Schedule

The first day of the conference, Wednesday, March 27, will focus on topics related to high-performance housing and codes & construction. Continuing education available.

Keynote

You won't want to miss our opening keynote! Hear from Cal Beyer, a human capital and wellbeing consultant with over 30 years of construction and manufacturing risk management and safety experience, and Jeff Horwitz of SAFE Project presenting on "Shining Light on Workplace Mental Health: Straight Talk for Leaders." The keynote will discuss how "behavioral health is a hidden crisis in the construction industry. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identifies the construction industry as a high-risk industry for anxiety and depression, substance misuse, suicide, and overdoses. Behavioral health issues are a major human capital risk management exposure for construction companies. Behavioral health claims are growing percentage of claims and dollars in both Workers Compensation and Employee Benefit programs. Behavioral health adversely impacts productivity, quality, risk management, safety, and schedule performance indicators, the leading drivers of contractors’ profitability.
